This is Todd
Todd lives in a one bedroom flat, but this is not his home, just his house. His house is perfectly clean, somehow he is triggered by messy environments. The floors are carpeted, with an ugly brown carpet, and the walls are painted with a sad beige. Close to one of the walls, there is a two seat sofa. Todd is laid down on it. He found the most comfortable position to squeeze his full grown body into his tiny sofa.
Weirdly enough, for Todd, his sofa feels huge. This piece of furniture is swallowing him. When he closes his eyes all he can feel is…nothing? Just a void, a sense of nothing had infected him years and years ago, perhaps he was born with it. He is so aware of his existence that he sees himself in the third person. There is no “me” for Todd, only “he” and “them”. He believes that he is entitled to criticize Todd, to humiliate him and to make him suffer, he does that without realizing he is harming himself. At the same time this alienation does not allow him to feel the joy of living, therefore all his achievements in life have been unappreciated because Todd is not Todd after all. Todd is a vessel controlled by an alternate individual, and both are the same, both can’t relate and none is in charge.
On the very corner of the sofa, there is a little creature. Crooked, wrinkled & with a purple tone and it has a humanoid figure. Just a glimpse of him in plain daylight would scare the bravest person. The hands of the little creature are bony and cold and bitter. The creature is staring at Todd with a motherly loving smile, it understands Todd at a deeper level than Todd himself.
Despite the presence of another being in the living room Todd continues laid down, eyes closed. He cannot hide he wants something to happen, he wants to feel, he wants to laugh, to feel happiness, to vibrate. Also, he wants to argue, to fight, to hit someone, something, to violently shake the soul of a frozen being, to make him hurt, to make him do it. To do something. It doesn’t matter what as long as you feel it enough to fucking care.
Todd starts rubbing his hair with his hands, first softly and then, aggressively starts rubbing his scalp until his hands burn. He does the same thing with his eyes, his face and to his hair again. He wants to wake up. He wants to wake up so bad his muscles are feeling tired. Finally, Todd gets some rest, the little creature is nurturing him now, again.
